Pilot Marius Naujalis

“I am glad that I was one of the first in Lithuania to fly in a hot air balloon. Back in 1988, US air balloon pilots brought a hot air balloon to Lithuania for the first time. They took off from the Pociūnai airfield, and took with them several children. I was among the lucky ones too. At the time, I was only four, and the ride seems to have made a bigger impression on my parents who later both became hot air balloon pilots.

My mother was one of the first female hot air balloon pilots in Lithuania. As a result, I have been involved in the sport ever since 1989, which marked the beginning of hot air balloon sport in Lithuania.

In 2009, I obtained a balloon pilot license and I have so far gained over 700 hours of flight experience. I fly with balloons because it is my life, my job and my hobby. In my free time, I participate in balloon championships in Lithuania and abroad. I’m also the founder and director of the Balooning Goods company which manufactures hot air balloon trailers, inflation fans, and other ballooning sport accessories.
